BEYOND THE CROSSROADS
The journey of life, the journey of discipleship, is always changing. New opportunities, new challenges, new relationships, and new communities shape each day and each season. In the midst of that, God gives us grace for each day, and Jesus continues to show up for us and with us in expected and surprising ways. At our events this year, we will share our journeys with one another, explore the nature of discipleship, and orient ourselves toward the presence and call of Christ.
Youth and adult advisers from across the Synod gather for a weekend of fun, Bible study, service, worship, and community building in large groups as well as smaller ones. Each day ends with Family Time, an opportunity for prayer and reflection. COVID precautions are in place to limit exposures as well (see reverse side for COVID precautions and expectations)
The event includes a weekend of service projects, faith-filled discussions, and relationship-building in small groups. This year's service project will be assembling Personal Care kits for Lutheran World Relief. These will go to refugee camps and areas effected by disaster all over the world. Each participant should bring: at least one light weight, dark colored bath towel and 4, five ounce bars of individually packaged soap. Come make new friends and renew friendships with attendees from throughout our synod!
Cost includes: programs, lodging, meals, activities and t-shirt! LCGS offsets the cost by $30 per participant so your rate is lower than the synod advertised price. Registration forms and payment should be returned to the church office so that we can register as a group. If you are in need of a scholarship, please contact Connie Charitonuk.

COVID PRECAUTIONS & EXPECTATIONS
We are excited to return to in-person youth events for the 2021-2022 program year! Many things will look the same as they did in the past – small groups where youth can explore and deepen their faith, service projects to help us engage with the world around us, energetic large group gatherings, and time to connect with your congregational group. And, there will be some changes to help keep everyone safe and healthy during the ongoing pandemic. As your group or family consider whether to attend, we invite you to carefully read over our precautions and expectations of event participants to aid in your discernment.
An important update: We are now requiring proof of COVID-19 vaccination for all youth, adults, and staff in order to attend events. If you are not vaccinated or cannot provide proof of vaccination, you must present a negative result from a PCR test administered no earlier than 60 hours prior to the event that will be verified before entry to the event is permitted. If you do not have proof of either, you will not be permitted to enter the event, and you will not receive a refund. Any youth participant, regardless of age, who does not meet the entry requirements must be accompanied by an adult from the congregational group until arrangements are made for their return home. If the participant returning home is an adult leader, and their departure leaves the group unable to provide care for the youth they have brought, the entire group must leave the event without the possibility of a refund.
All youth and adult participants and staff will be expected to:

All youth and adult participants and staff will be expected to:
- provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination OR a negative result from a PCR test administered no earlier than 60 hours prior to the event;
- monitor their health leading up to the event, staying home if symptoms arise or they have been exposed to COVID within 14 days of arrival;
- report any new symptoms during the event to the event medics, arranging for transportation home if medics determine it is unsafe to stay at the event;
- wash and sanitize their hands regularly;
- wear a face mask at all times when indoors unless eating or sleeping;
- practice casual consent by asking others for their boundaries around close contact (hugs, high fives, removing masks in outdoor settings, etc.), and determine their own boundaries as well; and
- follow the guidance of event staff, including Small Group Leaders, medics, event security, venue staff, and food service providers.
- remind youth participants to go through a symptom checklist, posted in each cabin or room, every morning and escort them to a medic if symptoms have developed; and
- be a good role model by following masking rules and all other safety precautions throughout the entirety of the event.
