Are you interested in becoming a member and joining us in ministry?
The Disciple's Journey of Baptismal Living will be held on Sunday afternoons in the Fall and Spring. Our understanding of who our God is and who we are as God's beloved children is rooted in Holy Baptism. The Disciple's Journey of Baptismal Living explores the sacrament, and you will experience the joy of the Good News for our lives. We will use the Rite of Baptism and Daniel Erlander's book, Baptized We Live, as our framework to explore all that God does for us and how we might intentionally live the baptismal life of discipleship in response. After completing the class, participants will be Baptized or affirm their baptism and be welcomed into the congregation during worship service. Please call the church office for information or to register at (410) 838-8081. All are welcome in worship and for programs held at LCGS! Beyond that, becoming a member is a way for you to come along side us in an intentional way to support and advance the ministry that we at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd have been called to. We hope that our members are actively involved in both participating and leading programs. Members may decide to run for church council or other leadership positions within the congregation, serve on the preschool board, teach Sunday School or lead youth activities. There are many ways for members to use the gifts God has blessed them with! We also hope that our members will continue to grow as disciples of Jesus Christ by enhancing their own spiritual growth by participating in Bible Study, Faith Group, or other educational opportunities. As an active member (defined in the LCGS constitution as having communed and made a contribution of record at least once each year), you are eligible to vote at the annual meeting held in November or in other congregational meetings. We welcome you to our church family! |
