Our Vision - is for our youth to grow in their relationships with God and one another … to become active and faithful Christian citizens with guidance from nurturing and supportive adult mentors.

Our Mission
- is to invite all youth to be involved in a welcoming environment where there exist a balance of spiritual, service and social opportunities for youth, both in and outside the Christian church community.

SCOUTING AT GOOD SHEPHERD

Scouting helps children develop character, self-confidence, and values to help them make good decisions throughout their lives.

Cub Scout Pack 807 – Our Good Shepherd-chartered Cub Scout pack invites boys in grades 1-5 and their families to join for learning and fun experiences in a safe environment. Boy Scout Troop 807 – Our new, Good Shepherd-chartered Boy Scout troop invites boys in grades 6-12 to enjoy a vigorous outdoor program and peer group leadership with the counsel of an adult Scoutmaster. For more information, contact Scoutmaster John Watts through the church office.

Girl Scouts of Central Maryland – Several Girl Scout troops meet in our facilities. Girl Scouts invites girls in kindergarten through grade 12 to develop courage, confidence and character to make the world a better place. Christians In Action (CIA)

Ministry activities for middle & high school youth!


Friday Nite Drop-In

Friday Nite Drop-in offers youth in grades 6-12 time to hang out and have fun in a relaxed environment. Drop-in takes place during the school year on scheduled Fridays from 7 to 11 p.m. in the parsonage. Bring a snack or drink to share, $3 if you want pizza, and a friend. Parents are needed to help chaperone. Please contact Kim MacNeill if you can help.

Retreats

Middle and high school youth are invited to participate in retreats to build their faith and relationships with others. These include the Quake retreat for youth in grades 6-9 or the middle school FreeRide retreat, the Zone retreat for youth in grades 9-12 or the high school RoadTrip retreat, and other weekend opportunities. Youth Weekend

Youth Weekend offers youth in grades 6-12 the opportunity to plan and create a weekend of worship in their own way, through liturgy, music, dance, drama, children’s sermon, visual arts, and media. Youth Weekend usually takes place in the spring, with planning beginning in the winter months. Please contact Sandy Richter with any questions.

CIA T-Shirts

Christians In Action (CIA) youth group T-Shirts are available in adult sizes samll through extra large. Get yours for only $15! They run true to size. A limited number of original CIA shirts are also available for $13.50 each in sizes large and extra large. These shirts run large and long.

Please note your size and whether you want a new or original shirt on the sign-up sheet. Please make checks payable to LCGS, noting CIA Youth T-shirt on the memo line. Please turn in payment to Janet DeVinney in the Youth mailbox to get your shirt(s).

Scouting at Good Shepherd

CUB SCOUT PACK 807

Cub Scout Pack 807 invites boys in grades 1-5 and their families for fun and learning. The pack meets monthly in the Celebration Hall If you would like to know more or register your son in grades 1-5 with our Good Shepherd-sponsored Cub Scout Pack, please contact Cubmaster Mike Buher through the church office at (410) 838-8081. BOY SCOUT TROOP 807

Boy Scout Troop 807 invites boys in grades 6-12 for adventure and leadership opportunities. The troop meets Thursdays in the parsonage building from 7 to 8:30 p.m. If you would like to know more or register your son in grades 6-12 with our Good Shepherd-sponsored Boy Scout Troop, please contact Scoutmaster John Watts through the church office at (410) 838-8081 or stop by a meeting. You do not have to be a member of the church to join.

GIRL SCOUTS OF CENTRAL MARYLAND
