SEVEN
DAYS YOUTH MUSIC MINISTRY
|
HOLY GROUNDS is a quarterly, Saturday night Christian coffee house in our
Celebration Hall. The evening offers contemporary Christian music, food and fun
from 7 to 10 p.m. Led by Cross Purpose, Holy Grounds also showcases other
local Christian bands to provide fun and fellowship for anyone who enjoys contemporary
Christian music.
The next Holy Grounds will be Saturday, July 10 featuring
Cross Purpose. They will also be saying farewell to three members of
the band who graduated, and officially welcome three new members. AND ... the
band is changing its name to Seven Days!
Doors
open at 7:00 p.m. and music begins at 7:30 p.m. Contributions of baked goods and
other items are welcome to help make Holy Grounds possible. Some suggestions include:
brownies, cheesecake, coffee cake, soda in cans (Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, etc.),
bottled water, individual size bags of salty snacks, lemon bars or Rice Crispies
treats. If you can donate something, please contact Gina Miller.

CROSS
PURPOSE is a youth music ministry of Good Shepherd. The group leads music
at Sunday school theme celebrations, the quarterly Holy Grounds Christian coffee
house, and several Sundays a year at Cross Walk (our contemporary worship service).
Cross Purpose also travels to other congregations and Christian venues to share
its message of Christian faith through music. The group has led "trek"
discussions at Youth Encounter middle school retreats to help others explore how
they can share their faith through contemporary Christian music. Cross Purpose
has even recorded and sold CDs of performances, as well as band t-shirts!
The original band formed in 2005 when a group of our young people got together
to provide the music for Good Shepherd's Youth Weekend worship. That experience
proved so positive the group stayed together and evolved. If you are a youth who
would like to share your playing or singing talents with Cross Purpose, please
contact adult leader Jeff Herget.
Cross
Purpose now has a NEW CD "Up to Exit" is for sale. The cost of $10
goes to support the Cross Purpose ministry. This CD contains nine professionally
produced Cross Purpose recordings including "Lamb of God," "Trading
My Sorrows," and "How Great is Our God." It also includes the original
instrumental song "Taking Back the Night."
